Nic Mougin of Cedar Rapids Prairie is the winner of the Metro Spotlight Award for high school boys this week, the Metro Sports Report announced Sunday night.
Mougin, a junior, was a key member of the Prairie baseball team that won the first Mississippi Valley Conference title in school history this year and set a school record with 31 victories.
Mougin had a .413 batting average entering the Class 4A substate tournament with 15 doubles, two triples, two home runs and 28 RBIs. He played the infield for the Hawks and also compiled a 2-2 record on the mound.
Mougin was named first team all-Metro and first team all-Mississippi Valley Conference.
Prairie finished the season with a 31-8 record and reached the substate finals. The Hawks were ranked No. 5 in the final IHSBCA rankings.
