The fourth-ranked Kirkwood women's volleyball team made a strong  comeback Tuesday night, but the rally fell short against the Grand  View junior varsity team at Johnson Hall.

Kirkwood lost the first two sets, but the Eagles claimed the third and  fourth sets by identical scores of 25-21 to force a fifth and decisive  game. The Vikings won the showdown, 15-9, to claim the victory.

Grand View won 25-18, 25-20, 21-25, 21-25, 15-9.

Olivia Richards led Kirkwood (3-2) with 16 kills and 15 digs. Anna  Gorsich collected 14 kills, 10 digs and three aces.

Madi Wagaman collected 30 assists and 11 digs. Maranda Wheelock had 22  digs. Maggie Peters blocked six shots and had three aces.
