BETTENDORF -- Jefferson was limited to two hits, Bettendorf clubbed seven extra-base hits and the J-Hawks were beaten by the Bulldogs, 9-4, Thursday in nonconference baseball.

Bettendorf's Matt Albert was 4-for-4 with a home run, double and five RBIs. The Bulldogs (1-0) had 12 hits and received seven bases on balls.Their top four batters were a combined 9-for-13 with six extra-base hits, seven runs scored and seven RBIs.

Ky Kramer's double leading off the fourth innings was Jefferson's first hit. Chance Tiedtke had a single in the fifth inning. J-Hawk batters drew nine bases on balls.

Jordan Dee (0-1) pitched two-plus innings for Jefferson. He gave up eight hits, seven runs, walked five and struck out two.

Colten Jourdan pitched the final four innings and allowed four hits, two runs, walked two and struck out three.

Jefferson dropped to 1-3. The J-Hawks next play Tuesday in a doubleheader at Prairie.
