At Prairie High School, bowling is in the blood. Literally.

The top bowler on the girls team is Rylee Blood, this week's Metro Sports Report athlete of the week, who ranks second in the state with a 215 average.

The sister of last year's No. 1 boys bowler Nick Blood, she'll be one of the title contenders at the boys and girls district meet to be held Tuesday at Lancer Lanes in Cedar Rapids.

Glueck's 512 series sends Lions past Prairie

Raymond Glueck was on fire Friday, rolling back-to-back games of 256 for a 512 series that led Linn-Mar to a 3229-2925 win over Prairie in boys bowling at Lancer Lanes.

Seth Tegtmeier shot high game of 267 for Linn-Mar and had a 464 series. Connor Pickering had a 427 series and Colby Frye 412.

Andrew Galloro shot high game f 256 and high series of 469 for Prairie. Walker Hunt had a 402 series.

Kacena rolls 500 series for Prairie

WATERLOO - Josh Kacena had the hot hand for the Cedar Rapids Prairie bowling team Tuesday with games of 257 and 243 for a 500 series against Waterloo West at Maple Lanes in Waterloo.

Adam Jarchow performed slightly better with a 504 series for Waterloo West and led the Wahawks to a 3366-3288 victory in a Mississippi Valley Conference meet.

Cline shoots 456, Warriors rally past Hawks

Washington overcame a 59-pin deficit to beat Prairie, 2861-2850, Friday in boys bowling at Lancer Lanes.

Bryan Cline led the Warriors with games of 227 and 229 for a 456 high series. Kyle Kaness had a 439 series for Washington.

Prairie was led by Andrew Galloro, who rolled a high game of 242 and a 448 series. Josh Kacena had a 413 series.

Prairie held a 59-pin lead after the first round. Washington finally took the lead with a 233 in the fourth game of the Baker round.
