Coe softball swept by Simpson

INDIANOLA - The Coe softball team scored only one run in two games Wednesday and dropped an Iowa Conference doubleheader at Simpson, 9-0 and 4-1.

The Kohawks had three hits in the first game and four hits in the nightcap.

The losses dropped Coe to 19-13 overall and 3-5 in the conference. Simpson raised its records to 24-8 overall and 3-5 in the league.

Coe - Softball

Coe softball team sweeps Platteville

The Coe softball team swept a doubleheader from Wisconsin-Platteville, 6-2 and 8-2, Tuesday at Clark Field.

Brianna Gardner and Maliah Fligg had two hits for the Kohawks in the opener. Gretchen Lilienthal had two RBIs and Gardner scored two runs.Fligg got the victory in Game 1. She did not allow any earned runs in the

6-2 victory and had four strikeouts.

Fligg and Haley Smith socked home runs in the second game. Fligg was 2-for-4 with four RBIs. Smith was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Coe - Softball

Coe softball team sweeps Wartburg

WAVERLY - Haley Smith, Taylor Riedl and Marisa Repp belted home runs Saturday as Coe defeated Wartburg, 12-4, in the second game of an Iowa Conference doubleheader in Waverly.

The Kohawks also won the first game, 5-1.

Aaran Weeces (10-4) pitched a complete game in the opener and did not allow an earned run. Repp went 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Brianna Gardner, Paige Zahner and Smith had two hits.

Coe - Softball

Coe softball team nipped twice

The Coe College softball team suffered a frustrating day at Clark Field Saturday.

The Kohawks dropped a pair of one-run games to fifth-ranked Luther, 5-4 and 3-2, in an Iowa Conference doubleheader.

The losses dropped Coe to 15-11 overall and 1-3 in the conference. Luther raised its perfect records to 24-0 overall and 4-0 in the league.

Maliah Fligg went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs for the Kohawks in the opener. Anna Corkery and Gretchen Lilienthal also had two hits. The Kohawks scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to pull within 5-4, but fell a run short.

Coe - Softball

Coe softball team swept by Rams

MOUNT VERNON - The Cornell Rams swept a softball doubleheader from the Coe Kohawks Wednesday in Mount Vernon, 7-3 and 2-1.

The outcome left Cornell with a 16-3 overall record. Coe fell to 15-9.

Kelsey Boss was 2-for-4 with three RBIs for Cornell in the opener. Kylea Weber went 2-for-3 and scored two runs. Maliah Fligg and Ali Givens had two hits for the Kohawks.

Coe had a 3-2 lead in the first game, but Cornell scored five times in the bottom of the sixth to take command.

Boss went 2-for-3 for Cornell in the second game. Weber scored two runs. Brianna Gardner went 3-for-3 for Coe and Mallory McArtor was 2-for-2.

The Kohawks scored their only run in the seventh inning to pull within 2-1, but could not get the equalizer.
