Kennedy clips No.6 Davenport Central
DAVENPORT - The Cedar Rapids Kennedy baseball team finished a tough five-game road trip Tuesday night with a 7-4 victory over Davenport Central at Brady Street Stadium.
The Cougars played five games in four days, all on the road, all against ranked teams and finished with a 3-2 record.
Kennedy (14-4) lost a doubleheader at No.7 Fort Dodge on Saturday, but swept No.8 Dubuque Hempstead on Monday and took care of No.6 Davenport Central on Tuesday.
"I'm very pleased going 3-and-2 over the five games against ranked teams, all on the road," Kennedy Coach Bret Hoyer remarked. "Tonight was very impressive. We are starting to do some pretty good things."
The two losses at Fort Dodge dropped the Cougars from No.1 to No.9 in the Class 4A poll this week.
