Xavier girls dunked by IC West

The 15th-ranked Iowa City West girls basketball team doubled up Xavier, 62-31, Tuesday at Xavier.

Lexi Noonan scored 14 points to lead the Saints (2-3).

The Women of Troy improved to 4-0.

Wash girls fall to No. 13 Tigers

The Washington girls basketball team struggled in the first half and lost to the 13th-ranked Cedar Falls Tigers, 63-52, Tuesday at Washington.

Jessi Puk scored 11 points and Annie Visser and Jayla Johnson added 10 apiece to lead the Warriors (3-1).

Cedar Falls led 11-6 after the first quarter and 26-16 at halftime.

Emma Gerdes had 25 points for the Tigers (4-0).

Schoenauer shines for Kennedy swimmers

CEDAR FALLS - Cade Schoenauer won two individual events and swam on two triumphant relays Tuesday night for the Kennedy Cougars in a double-dual meet in Cedar Falls.

Kennedy topped Decorah, 111-59, and lost to Cedar Falls, 93-77.

Schoenauer captured the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly. He also helped Kennedy take the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay.

Brady Gibson won the 50 free and swam on the victorious 200 medley relay.

Myers leads Linn-Mar swimmers

Hogan Myers won two events and led the Linn-Mar boys swimming team to a 97-73 victory over Dubuque Hempstead on Tuesday at Linn-Mar.

Myers won the 200- and 500-yard freestyles in 1 minute, 52.57 seconds and 5:05.30, respectively. Matt Peng took the 100 freestyle (50.81), Zach Vana won the 100 backstroke (1:07.15) and Linn-Mar captured the 200 freestyle relay.

Jambois rolls 415 series for Kennedy

DUBUQUE – The Kennedy boys bowling team couldn’t catch Dubuque Hempstead and lost 3,277 pins to 2,908 Tuesday at Cherry Lanes.

James Jambois rolled a 236 game and a 415 series for the Cougars.

Justin Lanser had a 504 series for Dubuque Hempstead.
