Kennedy dominates Metro football stats
Class 4A state finalist Cedar Rapids Kennedy, not surprisingly, had individual offensive performances this football season that rank among the Metro's all-time best.
Running back Tyler Dralle rushed for a Metro record 2,241 yards in 14 games. That total eclipsed the previous mark of 2,212 yards set in 2009 by Washington's Andre Dawson. Dralle's 3,156 rushing yards and 34 career TDs also rank among the Metro's best.
Kennedy all-purpose star Shaun Beyer, a University of Iowa commit, accounted for 1,524 yards rushing (682) and receiving (842) this season. His 77 career receptions and 1,313 yards rank among the Metro's Top 10 all-time.
Beyer, an all-stater along with Dralle, also punted for a 44.4-yard average on 36 attempts. That average certainly would be among the Metro's all-time bests, if not the best, but complete records are not available.
In team statistics, Kennedy (13-1) led all Metro teams in rushing offense, total offense, rushing defense, total defense and scoring defense.
Xavier's Maliki Wilson, second behind Dralle in Metro rushing, posted one of the top 20 totals in Metro history with 1,232 yards. Saints junior quarterback Bryce Schulte is climbing the Metro record charts with 34 career TD passes.
Washington's Tavian Patrick, Jefferson's Valentino Green and Prairie's Jalen Rima all accounted for more than 1,000 yards combined rushing and receiving. Rima has committed to Northern Iowa.
