Goerdt honored by D3baseball.com

For the third time this season, a Coe College baseball player has been named to the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week.

Michael Goerdt, a senior from Waterloo Columbus, earned the honor this week. He set a school record Saturday by belting three home runs in a single game against Central, including a walk-off shot in the bottom of the ninth for a clutch victory.

Goerdt joins teammates Connor Alberhasky and Craig Konrardy as selections to the national team. Coe is one of 13 schools in the nation to have three or more selections this season.

Goerdt was also named the Iowa Conference Baseball Position Player of the Week and the Iowa Conference Male Athlete of the Week.

An outfielder, Goerdt hit .625 (10-of-16) with a 1.500 slugging percentage as the Kohawks took three out of four in a weekend series with Central.
