Mount Mercy men kick Hannibal

James Conversano and Souleymane Diallo scored goals Saturday as the Mount Mercy men's soccer team blanked Hannibal-LaGrange, 2-0, in a non-conference match at the Plaster Athletic Complex.

Conversano tallied in the 39th minute of the first half with an assist from Rafael Passanha. Diallo provided an unassisted goal in the 51st minute of the second half.

Dane Lee and Luca Kulczynski split time in goal for the Mustangs. Lee had two saves.

Mustang women boot Hannibal, 9-0

Payton Pottratz, Holli Jones and Isabel Alvarez scored two goals Saturday as the Mount Mercy women's soccer team blasted Hannibal-LaGrange, 9-0, in a non-conference match at the Plaster Athletic Complex.

Andrea Lopez, Adelaide Bayne and Maggie Murphy also notched goals for the Mustangs in the romp.

Carly Walker and Megan Hall had two assists. Lopez, Olivia Ramsey, Alvarez and Murphy also had assists.

KCC volleyball team rolls in Nebraska

NORFOLK, Neb. - The Kirkwood women's volleyball team rolled to a pair of straight-set victories at the NECC Tournament in Nebraska Friday.

The Eagles whipped Southeast Community College, 25-22, 25-22, 25-5, and knocked off Nebraska Central, 25-15, 31-29, 25-19 for a perfect day.

Alexa Ingram collected 31 kills in the two matches, including a whopping 22 kills against Central. She also had 25 digs.

Lauren Keane contributed 62 assists and 15 digs. Haleigh Durnin had 12 kills Friday. Sami Johnson produced 11 kills and 14 digs. Maddie Huff blocked six shots against Southeast.

Mustangs spike 2 foes in KC

KANSAS City, Mo. - The Mount Mercy women's volleyball team picked up a pair of victories at the Avila Tournament in Kansas City on Friday.

The Mustangs rolled by Southwestern College, 25-18, 25-19, 25-19, in their first match and clipped Presentation College, 25-13, 24-16, 25-15, 25-21 in their second contest.

Kayla Daggett collected 74 assists in the two matches, including 41 against Presentation.

Maddie Bell led a balanced attack at the net with 24 kills. Becca Thomson had 23 kills and Alyssa Weldon finished with 22. Weldon also contributed 27 digs in two matches. Lauren Stopko had 43 digs.

Mustang women gallop to victory

Andrea Ertz led the Mount Mercy women's cross country team to a first-place finish at the 25th Annual Mustang Gallop at Seminole Valley Park Friday night.

Ertz captured the 4K race in 15 minutes,55.6 seconds for a tight victory over Mount Mercy alum Katie Hoffert, who finished in 15:58.8.

Mount Mercy won the four-team race by 13 points over Cornell by placing 1st, 3rd, 6th, 7th and 13th.

The Mount Mercy men's cross country team finished in second place behind Cornell in a seven-team race. Mason Wicker of Cornell won the 5K outing in 15 minutes, 32.3 seconds.
