No. 13 Eagles win twice in Champaign

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Aubrin Dittmer collected 27 kills Friday as the  13th-ranked Kirkwood women's volleyball team won both of its matches  at the Parkland Invitational.

Dittmer had 15 kills as the Eagles topped Lincoln Land, 25-12, 19-25,  25-20, 25-15, in their first match in the tournament. She followed  with 12 kills as Kirkwood trimmed McHenry, 25-23, 28-30, 25-21, 25-18,  in their second outing.

The sweep lifted the Eagles to 15-7 for the campaign.

Anna Gorsich supplied 11 kills, 18 digs and five blocks in the victory  over Lincoln Land. Dittmer contributed 16 digs. Taylor Carey had 10  kills. Madi Wagaman provided 37 assists. Maranda Wheelock had 13 digs.

Mount Mercy boots Culver-Stockton in OT

CANTON, Mo. - Nikola Petrovic scored on a header in overtime Wednesday  to give the Mount Mercy men's soccer team a 3-2 victory over  Culver-Stockton in a Heart of America Conference match.

Kevin Kastl collected the assist on Petrovic's goal, which came in the  99th minute of the contest.

Culver-Stockton scored in the second minute of the match for a quick  1-0 lead for the only goal of the first half.

Will Hanigan tied the match for Mount Mercy in the 53rd minute of the  second half with an assist from Jonathan Scholes. Jose Leite gave the  Mustangs a 2-1 lead in the 64th minute with an assist from Kastl on a  corner kick, but Culver-Stockton tied the match 2-2 in the 72nd minute  to force overtime.

No. 13 Kirkwood spiked by Northeast

The Kirkwood Eagles were serving for set point and a 2-0 lead in their match against Northeast Wednesday night, but the contest went poorly  for the Eagles after that.

Northeast topped the Eagles, 3-1, in an ICCAC contest at Johnson Hall.

Kirkwood won the first set 25-22 and was serving with a 24-23 lead in the second set, but Northeast took that second set 26-24 and then  coasted in the final two sets, 25-15 and 25-16.

The loss dropped the Eagles to 13-7 overall and 2-2 in the conference. Northeast, which is not ranked, raised its records to 11-8 overall and  4-0 in the league.

Mount Mercy golfers take 7th

NEWTON, Kan. - The Mount Mercy men's golf team finished seventh out of  12 teams at the Mid South Classic Tuesday at the Sand Creek Station  course in Kansas.

Philip Nelson, who was tied for first place after 36 holes, struggled  with an 80 and tied for 14th place in the individual standings at  4-over-par 220.

Wayland Baptist won the title at 13-under par for 54 holes. Johannes  Hounsgaard of Wayland Baptist took medalist honors at 7-under 209.

Nelson leads Mustangs at Mid South golf

NEWTON, Kan. - Philip Nelson of Mount Mercy is tied for first place  heading into the final day of the Mid South Classic at the Sand Creek  Station Golf Course in Kansas.

Nelson sits in a four-way tie for the lead at 4-under-par 140 after  shooting rounds of 71 and 69 Monday at the par-72 layout.

The Mustangs are in seventh place out of 12 teams.
